Bankruptcy Appointment

First, we schedule an appointment with you in our office. We provide a list of things you will need to bring with you to the appointment.

The Bankruptcy Process

• Obtain your personal information
  
• Go over the debts that you want to include in the bankruptcy
  
• Go through the bankruptcy packet to get what is needed for your case
  
• Once we have the information and our fee is paid in full, we process the documents for your bankruptcy case.
  
• We call you to come in and sign your documents when they are complete

Credit Counseling and Debt Education Course

There is a requirement for you to complete Pre-Filing Credit Counseling (before you file). You have the option of using any company of your choice. We will need a copy of the certificate issued by the counseling company to complete the documents for your case.

There is a requirement for you to complete a Post-Filing Education Course (after you file). You have the option to use any company of your choice.

Bankruptcy Fees

Our fee is $250.00.

• Our fees do not include the filing fees charged by the court. The Bankruptcy Court fee is $338.00.
  
• Our fee does not include the fees for the Credit Counseling.
• Our fee  does not include the fee for the Debt Education Course.

        The fees range from $15.00 - $25.00.

Court Fees

The court charges a fee for filing cases. The court fee is paid directly to the court at the time of filing. The court fee for filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy is $338.00.

Court Fee Payment Options

The bankruptcy court offers three options for payment. We will ask you how you plan to pay the fee. The options are:

• Pay the fee in full at the time of filing
  
• Pay the fee in payments
  
• Ask the court to waive its fee
